Here is some key information for our parents of our students.

Hero

Hero is an app we use to keep our parents up to date. It is a powerful and secure online sharing platform where parents and caregivers can log in to their Hero account and see learning stories; assessments; progress data; school notices; pay their school account online … all through one app, Hero. Naming uniforms

Fortunately Kukri have included sewn in areas to write your child’s name in each item of their uniform.  If you haven’t done so, please take some time to do this with a pen which won’t wash out. Even better, do this with your child/ren as part of their personal responsibility and development of literacy!

Absences

If your child is absent from school please call the office on (09)5575503, before 8:30 a.m. to advise us. If you do not do this we contact you immediately through our text messaging system on LINC-Ed. After the second day of no notification our Office Administrator Alice will contact the home directly as well.

Lateness

All students report to the office if they arrive at school after the bell at 8:30 a.m. This is to ensure we keep a track of attendance and student safety.

Visitors

Whenever you visit the school please do so via the reception desk office so you can be checked in.  Alice loves to see all our visitors! Thank you for your cooperation.

School Docs

Our school works with SchoolDocs and we have a live website for our policies and procedures, available to our community.

The school works on a subscription basis with SchoolDocs to maintain, update, and review our policies. SchoolDocs provides us with a comprehensive core set of policies which have been well researched and follow the Ministry of Education National Administration Guidelines. The policies and procedures are tailored to our school, and the school supplies specific information such as our charter, and procedures for behaviour management, reporting to parents, etc. 

SchoolDocs updates, modifies, or creates policies in response to changes in legislation or Ministry guidelines, significant events, reviews/requests from schools, and regular reviewing from the SchoolDocs team. Our board of trustees has the opportunity to view changes/additions and comment on them before they are implemented.

We will advise you when policies are up for review and how you can take part in the review.  We invite you to visit the site at http://tenikau.schooldocs.co.nz/ (note that there’s no “www”!).
